When is the Stampede?

Book early
Stampede is Calgary’s busiest time of year, and homes book up months ahead. If you have dates in mind, check prices now. There’s no platform fee when you book direct, so you keep more of your budget for the midway.
Getting to Stampede Park
- Take the CTrain. Victoria Park/Stampede and Erlton/Stampede stations are right beside the grounds, on the Red Line. It’s the easiest way in and out, especially after the evening show.
- Parking fills up fast and costs more during Stampede. If you drive, park at a CTrain station and ride in.
- Rideshares work well, but expect surge pricing right after the grandstand show. Walk a few blocks away from the grounds to catch one faster.
Local tips
- Free pancake breakfasts pop up all over the city during Stampede. Follow the crowds and the smell.
- Bring sunscreen, a hat and layers. July days are hot, and evenings cool off quickly.
- Boots and a cowboy hat are welcome everywhere. You won’t be the only one.
- Plan a quiet day. A trip to Banff or Canmore is a great break from the crowds.
